Our Vision

BrainScape Medical SA is a Geneva-based start-up focussed on brain monitoring and brain medicine. Our core product is a subscalp EEG system unlike any other out there.

Why EEG?
EEG has been around for 100 years and is still a gold standard of brain monitoring, but the practice of obtaining EEG data has changed very little in those 100 years with the majority of EEG tests still being done in hospitals and special clinics with EEG caps, nets and other cumbersome skin based sytems.  In 2017 researchers at the Wyss Center in conjunction epilepsy neurologists set about reimagining how EEG data could be collected in a way that is much more accessible and informative.  The result was the Epios® subscalp EEG system and software that could be used long term and collect near-continuous data from the patient, without the patient being tethered to the hosptial or a machine.  In essence, a medical grade EEG system that is a wearbale you go home with.  In 2024 Brainscape Medical was founded with the mission to bring Epios® technology to patients and people everywhere.

We belive that the revolution in subscalp EEG, with full head coverage, has huge potential not only in medical diagnosis and monitoring of multiple conditions and states, but also as the data source for brain computer interfaces (BCIs) and neuromodulation. 

We want to lead a paradigm shift in brain data collection and do it with a patient friendly , data heavy device you hardly know you are using.  We want brian data to open the doors to a whole new world of brain medicine.
